Tuberville Hopes To Reduce Iron's Carries This Weekend

Let's hope that Saturday's game with Kentucky is under control quickly. If you haven't notice, the offensive backfield is struggling with injuries.

This week, Auburn moved defensive back Tristan Davis to tailback to shore up the dewindling ranks in the backfield. Brad Lester will miss his second consecutive game with a groin injury.

To make matters worse, Carl Stewart is nursing an injury to his ankle and has been ruled out for Saturday.

That leaves Tre Smith and Kenny Irons. Coach Tuberville says Iron's is getting too many carries a game.

"Thirty-two times for a running back in our conference is really too much consistently," Tuberville said. "They can do it every once in awhile. Kenny's had three real good games against three good defenses."

"Personally, I don't care who we're playing. I'd rather him not carry it that many times," said Tuberville.
